Superior Good Catch Program
Team,
Today marks a significant milestone in our journey toward becoming a more well-rounded, proactive safety organization. We are officially rolling out the Good Catch Program.
Safety isn’t just a set of rules handed down to us; it is a shared responsibility. This program is designed to move us away from the idea that hazards are "out of our control" and put the power of prevention directly into your hands.
What is a "Good Catch"?
A Good Catch is the act of identifying a potential hazard, an unsafe condition, or a "near miss" before it results in an injury or accident.
Example: You might be flagging for a line crew and notice an equipment issue or a site hazard that is technically outside your immediate scope of work. Identifying that "landmine" and reporting it is a Good Catch.
How to Participate
We have integrated this program directly into the Employee Portal. On the backside of the portal, you can now:
Report a Good Catch: Use the streamlined reporting tool.
Learn & Identify: Access resources on how to spot potential issues.
Provide Feedback: This program is a work in progress. If you have ideas to make it better, submit them directly through the portal.
Recognition & Rewards
While the ultimate reward is ensuring everyone goes home in one piece, we want to celebrate those who take this mission to heart. We will be awarding Quarterly and Annual Prizes for:
Volume: The most Good Catches reported.
Quality: The most detailed and impactful reports.
The Bottom Line
A program like this only works if you work it. It requires defensive posturing—looking at every job site with a critical eye to protect yourself and your coworkers from incidents, illnesses, and fatalities.
We aren’t doing this for the company; we are doing this for you. Let’s take an active role in making sure every day is a safe day.
Stay Alert. Report the Catch. Protect the Team.
